TRIPTYCA was born in 2005 from a long-standing friendship, organized around a common project: to rediscover and make known the repertoire of French sacred music for voice and organ that was composed for the great Parisian churches between 1850 and 1950.

After in-depth research work in the musical funds of the Conservatoire de Paris, Radio France and the French National Library, pages of music either forgotten or too rarely played were read and retained, both for their poetic and musical qualities and for their mutual coherence.

The repertoire of this first program is thus organized around the three ANGELUS by Louis Vierne, composer and organist at Notre-Dame de Paris at the beginning of the 20th century.

On the basis of their common experience of concerts and shows mingling music, theater, drama, and declamation, the musicians of TRIPTYCA are driven above all by the desire to share their curiosity and passion for this repertoire with a large public.

This adventure started on the shores of the Mediterranean, before moving on to Normandy, Brittany, Burgundy, and Paris, in the very places where this music was created several generations ago; whence it crossed the Atlantic in 2008!
